TASMAN ECO LATEX MATTRESS
The Tasman Eco Latex mattress is a high quality innerspring mattress with a latex layer added to the top. The latex reduces pressure area's which can restrict circulation, better circulation enhances oxygen and nutrient flow through the blood to all organs, specifically the skin and muscles, ensuring good development. The materials used have been treated to prevent dust mites breeding in the mattress and the mattress has been tested to European cot mattress standards, in the absence of an Australian cot mattress standard.
About 4 in 1 cot beds
1) Bassinet / Cradle position: Is with the base of the cot in the highest position this means you don?t have to bend down as far to pick your baby up, relieving stress and strain on your back. It is suitable to have the base of the cot in this position until your baby can sit up or approximately 6 months of age.
2) Cot position: is with the base in the lowest position this is to prevent your baby from climbing out of the cot, because the base is lower you have to bend further to pick your baby up, this is where a dropside becomes very important. By lowering the dropside the distance between the top of the dropside and the mattress or your baby is reduced, making it easier to lift your baby in and out of the cot. When shopping for a cot check to see if it has a dropside, if not check if you can reach into the cot to the level of the mattress when the base is in the low position, if not look for a cot with a dropside. The cot position is from approximately 6 months of age to when your
baby can sit up to when your baby looks like they might be able to climb out or between 18 months and 3 years, depending on your situation. When you think the time is right convert the cot to the Toddler bed position.
3) Toddler bed position: Is with the base in the low position and either the dropside and removed or the dropside and fixed side removed. This position allows your baby/toddler to remain in their cot, which they can still fit comfortably with plenty of room and lets them get used to the idea of not having a side on their bed and being able to climb in and out in a familiar environment which is a good transition to a single bed and extends the life and therefore value of the cot. If the back of the back of the cot is against a wall then we suggest leaving the fixed side on so your baby / toddler does not roll / slide between the mattress and the wall.
4) Childs sofa position: Is with the base in the low position and dropside removed, the sofa is great if you still have the room in your baby / toddlers room or in a rumpus room as an additional seat to read or sit and play on, with the addition of a couple of big cushions its suitable for all ages.
